Job Description

World Vision Cambodia (WVC) is a Christian relief and development organization committed to working with poor communities, focused on children, to transform lives and Cambodian society through sustainable development. We are seeking for (1) qualified Cambodian nationals to fill position of Project Assistant for Integrated Maternal &Newborn Survival based in Samaki Meanchey District, Kampong Chhnang Province.

Purpose of Position:
The Project Assistant will lead the successful implementation of Integrated Maternal and Newborn Survival (IMNS) project and ensure that the committed project results are achieved with quality. S/he will facilitate and lead the implementation; ongoing monitoring and reviews field activities requirements of IMNS project.

Responsibilities:
- Be fully familiar with the design of IMNS project-performance-monitoring target, provisions of
the budget and financial guideline and the agreement made within MoU with donors and Health and Nutrition program.
- Coordinate with the Health PC to ensure close alignment of project activities with those of the
- MCHN project.
- In coordination with ADP Health coordinator, assist the implementation of project activity at village and HC level
including training activities, communication campaigns, education sessions and meeting with HC and HCMC members.
- Facilitate training for HC, HC teams, VHSG and other volunteers on most recent updates
- maternal and new born health.
- Conduct assessments and plan for support of HC infrastructure improvement and supplies, equipments for
appropriate basis emergency obstetric and newborns care (BEmONC)
- Coordinate meeting between VHSG and HC staff in monthly basis, and periodic orientation with other informal
leaders to ensure their participations and support to the planned project activities.
- Monitor the progress of implementation of planned activities in ADP and regularly track expenditure as per budget.
- Coordinate with ADP Manager and Health and Nutrition program to facilitate the community mobilization and data
collection for the study on cause of Death Audits and Near-Miss Audits.
- Work closely with the technical officers on NO to develop project monitoring tools and quality assessment checklists.
- Be responsible for conduct field visit to all project villages to assess the quality of project implementation and propose necessary quality improvement measure.
- Assist ADP health coordinator to conduct review meeting involving HC staff, VHSG and other stakeholders as applicable
- Assist to maintain an update database of all project related documents, including planning and budgeting template, detail budget worksheet, project area profile, qualitative report, progress report etc.
- Assist ADP Manager to regular compile the project monitoring data (programmatic and financial) and make information available to ADP manager for analysis and reporting.
- Assist ADP manager in meeting and interact with Operational district and HC official of the MoH to understand the priority and coordinate the project activities in line with the overall plan of action
- Coordinate with all NGO and agencies working in ADP area on maternal and new born health and nutrition and making sure that the project activities are complementing the efforts of other agencies without any duplication
- Participate in all important coordination meeting related to MNH at OD level.
- Regularly interact with ADP manager and Health and Nutrition program to ensure regular coordination, technical accuracy of interventions and sharing of information.
- Use field visit and review meeting VHSG and other community volunteers as opportunity for building long term implementation of Maternal and Newborns interventions
- Ensure effective communication including appropriate use of written and verbal communication system.
- Support PC health ADP Manager provide leadership to the health team in ADPs by building cooperation, synergy, team spirit and creating supportive and learning environment
- Participate in the staff meeting, management meeting and other staff sharing and development forum

Jobs Requirement

- Must understand and agree with WV's vision, mission and core values.
- At least three years of formal training in the fields of Medicine, Nursing or Midwifery leading to a degree of Medical Doctor, Medical Assistant.
- Understanding of the national health policies and implementation guidelines of the Ministry of Health, Royal Government of Cambodia. Prior experience of working with MOH programs.
- Ability to operate MS. Word, MS. Excel, email, Internet and Power Point.
- Two years experience in maternal and child health, with some management skill.
- Clinical experience as a Midwife is an asset.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Competent in written English communication.
- Must be willing to work within a team.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight at project sites.
