Café managers ensure that the café delivers consistent service and products. The manager has a significant impact on the business because he/she sets the tone of the café and builds relationships with people who become regular customers. He/she is responsible for making major decisions, directing employees towards common objectives and goals and providing leadership when necessary, responsible for the financial evaluation of the café. This includes the monthly assessments, planning the budget along with monitoring the cost of their goods and the sales. Having an advance work plan is also very important for a café manager.

a.OPERATIONS

i.Overseeing all front end and kitchen daily operations.
ii.Ensure that all quality, standards, speed and presentation with food, beverages and services are met.
iii.Ensure that all staff is present and working properly and company policies and standards are met.
iv.Ensure that proper hygiene and safety are met.
v.Resolve employee’s disputes, problems and requests.

b.CUSTOMER SERVICE

i.Greeting and talking with customers, getting feedback regarding both items offered on the menu and service to the customers.
ii.Provide customers with advice on drinks and food.
iii.Resolve customer complaints and answer customer’s questions.
iv.Prepare packaged foods and drinks for take away.
v.Follow-up on guest’s comments.

c.SALES/MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS

i.Advertising and marketing the café, planning new campaigns to attract customers and constantly expanding the client base.
ii.Plan new promotional items and food and beverages.
iii.Update company websites or facebook.
iv.Meeting with vendors and sales people to order various food and supplies from various companies.

d.ADMINISTRATION/ OTHER DUTIES

i.Determining the correct amount to charge for various items on the menu from coffee and beverages through to food items.
ii.Hiring, training, supervising, promoting or firing staff as required. This may also include laying off seasonal staff in some areas.
iii.Approve and sign off on purchase requests for items and stocks needed.
iv.Prepare monthly employee work schedules.
v.Approve and sign off on leave requests.
vi.Assist with taking orders, preparing beverages, and serving when needed.
vii.And other tasks as needed…

职位要求

  -Bachelor Degree in Hospitality and Management.
-At least 5 years restaurant/cafe experience.
-At least 2 years previous management experience.
-At least 2 years previous barista experience.
-At least 2 years previous food preparation experience.
-Must be familiar with the nature of all jobs in café so that can monitor quality.
-Knowledge of food, coffee and drink preparation and all information on making specialty coffee, steaming and foaming milk, and various methods and flavors.
-Experience in using kitchen equipments, café machines and beverage equipment.
-Must dedicate time and commitment to company. A manager must be on site at all times, so some shifts extend late into the night or begin early in the morning. café managers must be flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
-Be able to work fast pace and multi-task.
-Good communication skills.
-Good English skills.
-Polite and customer oriented.
-Must be honest and trust worthy.
