Vacancy Type:Execute/ Management, Community DevelopmentWork Experience:3Age: JOB PURPOSE: To provide capacity building and technical support to the IPHA in organisational/ project development. The IP RIGHTS project aims to improve access to appropriate, quality health care for the indigenous people (IP) of Ratanakiri Province. To work towards achieving this, Health Unlimited has established the Indigenous People Health Association (IPHA). The IPHA is a very young organization and its indigenous staff have limited experience in community education, social mobilization and organisational/ programme development. The post holder will work closely with the HU-RTK Programme Manager and the IPHA Director to provide training, coaching and technical support to the IPHA staff to build their capacity in organisational/ programme development and in managing project implementation. Duties: - Overall responsibility for effective and efficient management of the IP RIGHTSS project consistent with the project management cycle, the approved proposal, budget, and contract - In collaboration with the IPHA Director and relevant staff prepare activity plans/ budgets, and monitor the progress of planned activities and financial expenditure - Facilitate the provision of management and technical support to staff as necessary, providing such support directly when appropriate - Build the capacity of IPHA staff in advocacy in general and basic health rights in particular - Facilitate regular review and reflection workshops using log frame indicators, and assist in preparing (quarterly and annual) progress and financial reports, incorporating lessons learnt into plans - Lead the IPHA in developing its organizational and management policies and systems - Support the IPHA staff to prepare/ conduct research on relevant policies and issues affecting IPs through facilitating participatory action research in target villages and identifying/ collaborating with agencies/ networks relevant to health advocacy work - Assist the teams in establishing and strengthening relationships with policy makers and advocacy-relevant agencies and organisations at the local, national and international levels |
- University degree in a relevant subject - Minimum of three years relevant field experience in a development/ humanitarian context, preferably in a Project Management/ Co-ordination role - Experience in project monitoring, with strong report writing/ fund raising skills - Financial/ administrative management experience, including basic budgeting/ accounting skills - Proven skills in managing people, and a supportive management style - Strong problem solving and organisational skills - Fluent in spoken and written English - Identification with Health Unlimited's Vision and Mission How to apply: Applicants must at least fulfill the essential person specification requirements as stated in the full Job Description and submit their application using the HU Application Form.
