Job Description

  * New Model Introduction (Approximately 50% of time)
• Work with Targus Product Development Team & Suppliers, to conduct technical feasibility study, risk assessment & quality experiment to evaluate new product design concept and architecture
• Conduct new supplier quality audit ; Provide input on supplier selection, identify supplier capability shortfall on design, quality and production capability
• Provide technical support to supplier to design product that meet cost, specification and schedule.
• Aid to define product specification, compliance requirement and quality test plan. Work closely with supplier to conduct quality qualification and compliance testing on new products
• Raise alert whenever adverse quality progress happens which may affect project schedule.
• Validate the product and process quality during pilot run. Conduct PP Meeting with supplier and ensure all outstanding quality issues are solved before production start
• Conduct quality assurance inspection on initial batches and grant quality green-light on the first shipment of new products

* On-Going Production (Approximately 50% of time)
• Conduct regular pre-shipment quality inspection and production process audit, so as to assess and monitor the quality performance of supplier and to actively drive for continuous quality improvement
• To resolve field quality complaint with supplier
• Issue CPAR to supplier when quality non-conformance is detected (on both internal and external quality issues) ; to follow through with supplier on root cause analysis as well as the formulation of corrective and preventive actions
• Conduct quality review meeting with supplier
• Raise quality alert whenever adverse quality situation happens. Propose necessary measure to avoid quality loss, including stop production, on-hold shipment, sorting, rework on WIP, . . .
• Define quality test plan to validate process / material changes and make approval from technical and quality perspectives ; ban all non-approved product changes

Job Requirements

  • Degree or Technical college graduate in Engineering disciplines (preferably electronics or electrical)
• More than 3 years work experience in QC/QA, engineering or laboratory testing function, specifically in computer peripheral / interfacing or consumer electronic products
• Basic knowledge on ISO9001 and other national regulatory compliance standards
• With self-initiative and able to work independently ; good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal & communication skills
• Good command of English and Mandarin communication
