Job Description

  • Assists Managers and Partners during the Engagement acceptance and Engagement re-acceptance procedures
• Assists Engagement Manager in preparing the draft Engagement Proposals
• Provides input and works closely with Engagement manager in planning and scheduling work to be done on assigned Engagements
• In coordination with Engagement Manager, initiates and organises the required Engagement team meetings and ensures that said meetings happen
• Helps identify potential audit and assurance Clients or identifies any potential additional services from existing Clients
• Initiates tailoring of audit procedures and obtains Partner and Manager participation as necessary
• Supervises staff working under him/her, reviews work done by Associates including the related work papers and ensure that work done is consistent with work programme; writes up of Management Letters otherwise prepare management letter points for Manager’s consideration
• Promptly notifies the Engagement Partner and/or Manager of any problems involving technical, administrative, or personnel matters which need action at a higher level and offers alternative solutions
• Specifies segments of the audit programme to be carried out by other members of the audit team, ensuring that Associates are adequately briefed about their respective roles in the Engagement team
• Supervises the work of the Associates and ensures that work done is consistent with the work programmes
• Liaises with Client’s management to ensure the smooth flow of work and help ensure that good working relationship is maintained at all times
• Promptly notifies Client’s management regarding any accounting, auditing and administrative issues identified by the engagement team, and alternative resolutions, to ensure that these issues are timely resolved
• Performs procedures that are too complex to be delegated to staff and prepare the related work papers
• Assists managers in the preparation of Engagement budgets for all Clients and monitor completion of work as against that budget
• Assists managers in the timely billing and collection of fees
• Conducts job evaluations and provide feedback to all Associates in a timely manner
• When required, participates as training resource person
• Sees to it that all members of the Engagement team observe proper protocol when working at Client’s offices and in all other dealings with Clients
• Performs such other duties necessary to ensure that the audit work is completed with the quality consistent with GT standards.

Job Requirements

  1.Education: University degree preferably in Auditing/ Accounting or business related fields
2.Special license/certificate: Either holds a current and valid ACCA/CPA's certificate, or be working toward obtaining the certificates by taking and passing the applicable state ACCA/CPA exams
3.Experience: Minimum 3 years
4.Good comment in English
