Job Description

World Vision Cambodia (WVC) is a Christian relief and development organization committed to working with poor communities, focused on children, to transform lives and Cambodian society through sustainable development. We are seeking for qualified Cambodian nationals to fill a position of Reintegration Coordinator for Trauma Recovery Project (TRP), Peace and Justice Program based in Phnom Penh.

I. THE PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To assist the reintegration officer and project manager to facilitate and coordinate family reunions/placement, safer long-term facilities, and repatriation and ongoing regular post reintegration follow up visits. This position would also focus on direct service / observation/ planning with children for short-term care.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- To assist reintegration officer in conducting families and communities assessment of residential girls to find out a possibility of family acceptance and reintegration by closely working with project social worker, local Ministry of Social Affair Veteran Youth staff, key local authorities and Area Development Programs (ADP) staff.
- To conduct family reintegration and repatriation of girls in to the families of origin for sustainable long –term care.
- To conduct assessment of possibility setting up Income Generation Action (IGA), animal husbandry, home gardening or other local market needs to independently support families.
- To support reintegrated girls and families on IGA materials, home gardening facilities, housing repairs, family basic need and support girls and the families join skill training as needed.
- To conduct regular and ongoing post reintegration follow up visits and supports.
- To conduct and facilitate training on parenting skill, animal husbandry and home gardening, and IGA skill to reunited girls and families.
- To strengthen and facilitate meeting of community-based network care members for further protection and care of girls
- Financial Transaction Preparation: To prepare Cash expenses for materials to support reintegration girls and families, alternative care, housing repair, school materials and other expenses.
- To assist and support reintegration officer in the implementation of case closure, project evaluations and audits.
- To prepare monthly, quarterly and annually project reports which required by project, government donors, and other concern bodies.
- Record keeping: Maintain records and update reintegration information.
- To assist the TRP in advocating children’s interests on the issues of sexual exploitation by supporting and leading activities, which would enable the children involved in project initiatives to carry out advocacy.
- To develop and maintain good relations with concerned ministries and provincial, district and commune officials, village and group leaders as well as key persons in the community for the project target areas.
- To participate in monthly TRP Team meetings and, as a part of that team, share in the leadership of TRP project.

III. REQUIREMENTS

- Completion of University degree in social science in the field of Psychology, Sociology and or other related fields.
- At least three years experienced in return and reintegration.
- Demonstrated skill in observation of factors, which contribute to the sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, trafficking and HIV/AIDS of children.
- Training or experience in child rights approach to social issues preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Good spoken and written in English language skills and Vietnamese is higher preferable.
- Aware of and committed to the Vision, Mission and Core Values of World Vision.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, Windows' 2000.
- Willing to travel and overnight stay at community.
